The Hall of Mirrors
The Hall of Mirrors (HoM) is a game archaeology and preservation archive dedicated to documenting and preserving the history of video games.
HoM covers more than just unused or cut content. The archive documents development builds, prototypes, development history, technical discoveries, glitches, easter egg, unused content and other material that helps preserve how games were made and how they changed during development.
Philosophy
We archive what we know, and we are not scared of saying we don't know everything.
HoM values documentation and evidence over speculation. When something is unknown, uncertain or disputed, it should be clearly identified as such rather than presented as fact.
Information should be accompanied by appropriate sources and context whenever possible. Different interpretations and discoveries can be documented as new evidence becomes available.
The archive is intended to preserve not only what is known about games, but also the process of discovering and understanding their history.
